Harriet’s Special Strawberry Trifle


A note from Harriet Wegmeyer:

During strawberry season, my family eats strawberries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Though there’s nothing like eating a fresh berry in the field, I’ve collected a few all-star recipes over our sixteen years of strawberry farming (wow, the years have flown!). This is what I refer to as my “Special Dessert” and it is requested by my boys weekly during strawberry season! I hope you love it as much as our family.


Harriet’s Special Strawberry Trifle


  • 1 box of vanilla wafer crackers, crushed with a rolling pin
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 (5.1 oz) package of instant vanilla pudding
  • 2.5 cups of cold milk
  • 1 tub of Cool Whip
  • 1 quart of Wegmeyer Farms strawberries, washed, stemmed and sliced in half


  1. Add milk to the package of vanilla pudding and whisk 2 minutes
  2. Let sit for 10 minutes
  3. Fold in 1 can of condensed milk
  4. Fold in ½ tub of cool whip
  5. In a 3-qt glass bowl, arrange one-third of the strawberries on the bottom of the bowl, then add 1/3 of crushed wafers, then 1/3 of pudding mixture, repeat twice.
  6. Add remaining ½ tub of Cool Whip on top and arrange remaining strawberries on top. Refrigerate and serve. It won’t last long!
